Last updated: September 1, 2026

Overview

Modify Request Header is a Chrome extension that allows users to create, manage, and apply custom HTTP request headers to websites selected by the user.

The extension is designed to operate locally within the user's Chrome browser.

Information Stored

The extension stores configuration information explicitly entered by the user, including:

This information is stored locally using the Chrome Storage API.

Authentication Information

Header values entered by users may contain sensitive authentication information such as API keys, authorization tokens, access tokens, or other credentials.

This information is entered voluntarily by the user and is used only to apply the request-header rules explicitly configured by the user.

The extension does not transmit stored header configuration or authentication information to the developer or to any analytics, advertising, or data collection service.

Data Collection

The extension does not collect browsing history, website content, personal information, analytics data, or usage statistics.

The extension does not use analytics or tracking services.

Network Access

The extension requires access to website URLs in order to apply request-header modifications explicitly configured by the user.

Users may configure rules for specific websites or intentionally leave the URL field blank to apply a rule to all websites.

The extension does not use this access to monitor browsing activity or collect website content.

Import and Export

Users may export their header configuration to a JSON Lines (JSONL) file and import configuration files back into the extension.

Exported files are created locally on the user's device. Header values are stored in plain text in exported JSONL files.

Users should protect exported files if they contain sensitive information such as API keys, authorization tokens, or other credentials.

Data Sharing

The extension does not sell user data.

The extension does not transfer user data to third parties except as necessary to perform the user-requested functionality of applying configured request headers to websites selected by the user.

Remote Code

The extension does not download or execute remotely hosted code. All executable code is included in the extension package.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the extension's functionality or data practices change.
